munti coffee

We fell in love with the ritual of morning coffee.

Taking a few quiet minutes before the day begins to focus on something that makes us happy. Being present while the water boils, being intentional with choosing a dripper to match that particular bag of beans. The harmony of it all coming together in a warm mug.

Nothing beats the first sip of coffee to start your day. Except maybe the second.

We’re about as “micro” as a microroaster can be—a pair of home roasters in Pennsylvania. And we’re thrilled to share part of our morning ritual with you in each bag of coffee.

why munti?

Bahay kubo, kahit munti

My nipa hut, although quite small

“Bahay Kubo” is a Filipino folk song as ubiquitous as “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” It opens with the image of a small traditional hut made of bamboo and nipa, dried palm leaves. And although humble in size, the nipa hut is surrounded by an abundance of plants and vegetables.

We’re inspired by the image of the nipa hut, and by the idea of taking only what you need—in terms of space, resources, money—while ensuring abundance and sustainability for those around you. For all of those around you: big or small, human or otherwise. It embodies so much of what we hope to grow out of our munting business.
